It obvious that one of Africa’s biggest red carpet events, the Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards (ASFAs) took a two-year break because of the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus disease because social events were not allowed to take place to reduce on its spread.
Have you waited for so long? ASFAs is returning for the 8th edition on Friday the 16th December at Kampala Serena Hotel but before that, organisers will hold a 3-day Fashion Weekend aimed at reflecting on how the fashion industry has gone through many changes in the last years.
As team ASFAs, they have seen big brands with a lot of resources struggling to navigate this new normal, and thought how much harder can it be for local, small and medium enterprises, thus a need hold this Fashion Weekend that will take place from 11th to 13th of November at MOTIV in Kampala, starting from 9AM to 6PM.
“To be a young designer navigating the markets, especially after the pandemic is not easy. This fashion weekend is a platform for young creatives who seek for futuristic opportunities to collaborate and amplify their brands, or simply better understand the markets” said Brian “Abryanz” Ahumuza, the CEO ASFAs.

This year, the ASFAs contributes to the sustainability of local brands through the ASFAs Fashion weekend. Every year is kicked off with a diverse theme that becomes an imperative element to the main show.
The first day of this weekend will see business owners, artists and all fashion creatives exhibiting their work, while engaging in dialogues with fellow creatives and fostering collaborations.
The second day will be a workshop where fashion influencers and business thought leaders will give keynote presentations.
The last day will be the announcement of nominees for the Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards happening on 16th December.
The ASFAs panel of experts will engage the audience in discussions, testimonials, question and answer sessions, inspiring them to take on global markets.
