Popular song writer and producer Yese Oman Rafiki officially embraced singing after his recent release of his 14-track debut music album titled “National ID”
He has already been endorsed by veteran singer Jose Chameleone after he agreed to feature on one of the songs tilted “Mirembe” translated as Peace
Other songs are “Baby Daddy”, “Chali”, “Mwotto”, “Wampita”, “Wait”, “Obufananyi”, “African Sugar Daddy”, “Stay Longer”, “Nakato Ne Babirye”, “Kumpi”, “Nyumbani”, “Tagaba Omitima” and “Tendeka Bus”
Yese has been writing songs for many local male and female artistes especially those signed under Swangz Avenue record label.
Besides writing songs, he owns a record label, Route Entertainment located in Bunga, a Kampala suburb. That is where he writes and sells his song demos besides his main job of doing radio and Television adverts.
He is the brain behind “Kabulengane” which is one of veteran singer Bebe Cool’s biggest hot songs.
He has worked with Winnie Nwagi, Radio and Weasel, Irene Ntale, Jose Chameleone, Kay Switch, Vanessa Mdee among others.
During one of his interviews after the death of singer Mowzey Radio in 2018, he revealed that it is him (Radio) who inspired him to join the music industry. Radio also personally taught Yese how to write good music which is the reason he did a tribute song after his death.
His online biography shows that his real name is Kiberu Joshua and was born 1984 at Mulago Hospital in Kampala.
He attended St James SS, St. Charles Lwanga Kasasa, Nalya Secondary School and later graduated from Makerere University in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Computing.
After working with PKF a reputable audit firm, Yese dropped his job as IT auditor and started doing music.
He said that although he loved his profession, music was his passion and it has helped him earn a living and working with the biggest music names in the country.
