One of the leading paint makers Kansai Plascon Uganda Limited in 2019 donated the first proceeds from their Anti-Mosquito Paint sales to Sanyu Babies’ Home based in Mengo, Kampala
This was in fulfillment of their pledge of donating Ug Shs 1000 from every litter of this paint to different causes
Plascon which promised to keep on helping the oldest abandoned children home in Uganda on Saturday the 4th of September donated 700 liters of paint worth Shs 14 million.
This is part of Plascon’s contribution to the babies’ home which is currently doing a facelift of its old structures.
The paint was on Saturday handed over at Sanyu Babies’ Home by Daniel Kayongo the Marketing Coordinator Plascon and was received by Mr Kkonde Brasio, a senior social worker at the Babies’ Home.
At the handover, Mr Kayongo noted that children who are the future need to be helped so that they grow up in safe communities
“Children are our future and we need to do everything that we can to ensure that they grow up in safe communities. Plascon wants to see a continuation of generations who are given the chance to dream big. We would like to see these children and many others grow into responsible contributors to the Ugandan society.” Kayongo said.
Sanyu Babies’ Home which is Christian organization was founded in 1929 by a Missionary Sister Milnes Winfred Walker (RIP) who was a midwife at Mengo Hospital. It cares for up to 50 abandoned babies and toddlers aged between 1 day old and 4 years.
