itemprop=”headline”>Real Reason Why Bobi Wine Was Prohibited From Entering The U.S.A
Posted on September 24, 2021
A few weeks ago, Bobi Wine and his wife Barbie Kyagulanyi were in South Africa (S.A) where Barbie celebrated her 39th birthday that was on 7th of September.
The couple spent almost two weeks in Mandela land where they did different things including meeting Ugandans, especially Bobi’s supporters, living in different states of Southern Africa country.
Their visit in S.A went down successfully only that it is the reason why the musician-turned-politician was prohibited from proceeding with his flight to the United States Of America on Wednesday.
Going by the fact that Bobi was in South Africa recently, it was noted in Doha, Qatar thus being prohibited from proceeding to the USA because apparently, anyone who has been in or is from South Africa and other red listed countries is not allowed to enter USA until after a fortnight, because of Coronavirus related restrictions.
This forced Bobi Wine to cancel his journey and return to Uganda on Thursday morning.
The reason Bobi was flying to the US was to attend National Unity Platform (NUP) party’s Diaspora events including the Uganda Action Day and a convention that were scheduled for this weekend. The events will however continue to happen despite his unexpected absence.
“This notwithstanding, the planned activities this weekend will proceed. There are several NUP leaders who are already in the US including Hon. Zaake Francis, Hon. Kayemba Solo and Chairman Nyanzi. Other NUP leaders are also on their way to take part in the activities. I will also be part of the event virtually, together with a team of leaders who are not able to travel for one reason or another.” Reads Bobi Wine’s statement he issued on Facebook, in part.
The former NUP Presidential candidate in the Uganda January 2021 general elections apologised to the Ugandans in the Diaspora for the inconveniences this caused but promised to attend the events virtually.
“I apologise for any inconveniences this may cause to all of you who anticipated my physical presence at the Convention and other events. In the coming weeks, I’ll definitely be able to come for various interactions and events.”
