Veteran Rapper P. Diddy real name Sean John Combs confirmed that he has changed his middle name to ‘Love’.
The 51-year-old, announced the development on his official social media platforms by sharing a photo of his driving license confirming that his middle name was no longer John.
“Look what I just got in the mail today. IT’S OFFICIAL!!! WELCOME TO THE LOVE ERA,” he cheerfully penned alongside the post
The changes have already been printed on all his documents including his driving permit and passport. He said he first attempted to change his name in 2017 but failed.
“It was actually in 2017 that I first announced that I had changed my name to Love but I failed to do it legally,” he explained.
The rapper has also in past changed his alias from Puffy to Puff Daddy to P. Diddy, to Diddy, and then P. Diddy again which is the current.
Sean Love Combs was born on November 4, 1969 in the suburb of Mount Vernom, NewYork City. He is an American rapper, record producer, record executive, and entrepreneur.
He worked as a talent director at uptown records before founding his own record label, Badboy records in 1993.
Since then, Combs has produced and cultivated artistes such as The Notorious B.I.G, Mary J Blige and Usher Raymond.
Combs’ debut album in 1997, “No Way Out”, has been certified seven times platinum. It was followed by “Forever” (1999), “ The Saga Continues” (2001), and “Press Play” (2006), all of which were commercially successful.
In 2009, he formed the musical group “Dirty Money” and released the critically and commercially successful album “Last Train To Paris” (2010).
